Bengals rookie Joe Mixon exits practice with foot injury

The rash of injuries to NFL rookies continued on Thursday when Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon left practice with a foot injury.

This injury may or may not be a big deal in the long run for Mixon.

But it’s certainly alarming when you consider the injuries suffered to the likes of Mike Williams and Forrest Lamp of the Los Angeles Chargers — two of their top rookies expected to make a big difference in 2017. Also injured recently was Baltimore Ravens rookie guard Nico Siragusa, who blew out three ligaments in his knee.

If Mixon is seriously injured, then it would be a big deal to the Bengals. Geoff Hobson of the team’s website shared his thoughts on the rookie on the same day he was injured, saying he expects Mixon to touch the ball 15-20 times per game, right out of the gate in Week 1.
