Bengals’ A.J. Green unlikely to return Week 10

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

There was some hope that seven-time Pro Bowl receiver A.J. Green would make his season debut for the winless Cincinnati Bengals Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Talking about his ankle injury on Thursday, Green pretty much threw cold water on that idea. When asked if he’s going to play Sunday, Green responded “probably not.”

This was initially seen as a short-term injury for Green. However, it’s dragged on through the first half of Cincinnati’s schedule. It’s now not known when he’ll return to action.

At some point, Cincinnati might want to shut its No. 1 receiver down for the season. An impending free agent, Green has noted he’d like to return to the Bengals. Is there really any reason to risk further injury in what has been a lost season in Cincy?
