Ben McAdoo: Odell Beckham Jr. could play in Week 1

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. caused quite a panic when he crumpled down to his knees in the tunnel to the locker room after being tackled last Monday.

Fortunately, the injury to OBJ’s ankle was not a serious one, and this news from head coach Ben McAdoo is quite encouraging.

Beckham took a hit that at first looked to endanger his knee. It ended up being just an ankle sprain. The young receiver is doing everything possible to get healthy, including receiving laser treatments to his ankle.

From McAdoo’s perspective, things look hopeful for Beckham to play in Week 1. Any games the superstar wideout potentially misses would be detrimental to the Giants putting up wins.

If Beckham is indeed ready to play in Week 1, he’d be a big help during the team’s season opener at the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants were only one of two teams to beat the Cowboys in the regular season in 2016.
