The first-place Chicago Bears suffered a major blow in last week’s win over the New York Jets. Three-time Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long exited the game with a foot injury. It didn’t look good at first glance.
That’s now been all but confirmed. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Long will miss 6-8 weeks due to the injury. That could keep him out for the remainder of the regular season and force Chicago to place Long on injured reserve.
Sources: #Bears standout G Kyle Long is out 6-8 weeks with a foot injury suffered on Sunday. He’s getting more info, but that’s best estimate right now. A tough loss for that offense on the field and in the locker room.

A Pro Bowler in each of his first three seasons, Long has been injury plagued ever since. In fact, he missed 14 of a possible 32 games during the 2016 and 2017 campaigns.
With Long in the mix, Chicago is averaging a robust 4.7 yards per rush this season. This is certainly a major blow for one of the most surprising teams in the NFL.
