Baltimore Ravens seven-time Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas was sent home by the team Friday after an altercation with fellow defensive back Chuck Clark.

It was not previously known what led to the fight between the two in practice earlier this week. That’s until now. Thomas took to Instagram to give his side of the story, react to being sent home and post a video of the play that led to the altercation.

“Being sent home sucks. I can’t take the reps I need to keep momentum going, but I can reflect on things and keep working (on) my plan to help the team win,” Thomas wrote. “This has been one of of my best camps (and) crazy a situation like this can (throw) dirt on it. Here is the clip that started the fight A mental error on my part. A Busted coverage that I tried to explain calmly (met) with built up aggression turned into me getting into with a teammate.”

Thomas then took aim at his teammates for not keeping this in-house.

“Since we didn’t keep it in house and I’m getting text and calls from ESPN reporters, thought I’d try and clear the air. Situations like this narrow my window for error but this the path I choose.”

It’s not yet known what is going to come of this. Thomas, 31, signed a four-year, $55 million contract with Baltimore back in March of 2019.

The seven-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer is set to count $15 million against the cap in 2020. Baltimore would incur a $25 million dead cap hit by releasing him, primarily because the team front-loaded said contract.

It’s being reported that multiple members of the Ravens do not want Thomas around and are taking Clark’s side following the incident. Typically, the Ravens brass relies on team leaders to make decisions of this ilk.
