Baker Mayfield on the Browns: ‘If anyone is going to turn that franchise around, it’s me’

Currently, the Cleveland Browns have the No. 1 and No. 4 picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. With either, they could easily select a quarterback. If they did go this route, and choose Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, he said he could “turn around” the Browns’ franchise.

That of course, would be a huge task. But it is cool that Mayfield is not afraid to land with a franchise that has won only one game in the past two seasons. Though, many believe a team’s success is tied to its quarterback.

The Browns have to re-start somewhere just as they do every single season. Mayfield is coming from a 2017 college season that saw him pass for 4,627 yards and throw 43 touchdowns. That came along with only six interceptions and 70.5 pass-completion rate.

If the Browns take a chance on Mayfield, they will get a quarterback who is clearly starting material and fully dedicated.

We will see soon enough what unfolds for the Browns in April’s draft.
