Austin Rivers: Blake Griffin is ‘100 percent happy’ in Detroit

The shocking deal that sent Blake Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers to a downtrodden Detroit Pistons team back in January was one of the biggest stories of the NBA regular season.

After seeing both teams miss out on the playoffs and Detroit struggle big time with Blake in the mix, most figured he’d be pretty upset how everything turned out.

According to former teammate Austin Rivers, that’s not entirely the case. In fact, Doc’s son indicated recently that Griffin is more than happy in the Motor City.

“It’s a fresh start for him. He’s been here for a long time,” Rivers told TMZ Sports, adding that Blake is “100 percent happy” with the Pistons.

Given that Griffin didn’t even take a visit with the Pistons during his free agent tour last summer, we’re not too sure this is the 100 percent truth. What we do know is that he’s locked in on a long-term deal with the Pistons. So it likely wouldn’t do any good for Griffin to say otherwise.

Griffin, 29, averaged 19.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 25 games with the Pistons after the trade from Los Angeles.
