Houston Astros star George Springer stepped up to the plate Wednesday against the New York Mets and was greeted by a chorus of boos.

As noted by Joe Pantorno of amNewYork, Springer is the only player who was part of the 2017 squad playing during Wednesday’s game.

The cheating scandal that rocked MLB this winter isn’t going away any time soon. Fans and even opposing players are still furious with the league for its decision to let the Astros keep their championship, and that players received a pass when it came to any discipline at all.

The Astros are going to be facing this type of reaction, along with some chin music, for quite some time now.
