Astralis’ Counter-Strike2 team is searching for a new coach.

The Danish organization announced Wednesday that it parted ways with head coach Peter “casle” Ardenskjold.

The 37-year-old casle joined Astralis’ academy squad in August 2022 and was named the interim coach of the main team in October of that year. The interim tag came off last December.

“The demands here are high, and we are constantly evolving both as a team and organization,” said Kasper Straube, Astralis’ sports director.

“After analyzing the fall season and working to identify the future needs on and around the team, the conclusion is that a profile with different skills than Peter’s is needed. We are acting on this now so that we can hit the ground running in 2024.

“Overall, we are in a very good position and enter 2024 with a strong belief that we can compete at the highest level. This requires, among other things, finding the right coach to lead the team, and that process is underway.”

casle wished Astralis the best of luck in a statement released the team.

“I am, of course, saddened that I will no longer be a part of Astralis. It is an organization and people I have tremendous respect for, and I wish everyone the best,” he said. “Thank you for giving me the opportunity and for a fantastic time with both the talent team and the main team, of which I am proud to have been a part. And thanks to all the fans for your fantastic support. I will miss that. See you out there!”

Astralis’ all-Danish roster consists of Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Martin “stavn” Lund, Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard and Victor “Staehr” Staehr. Fellow Denmark natives Johannes “b0RUP” Borup and Christian “Buzz” Andersen are benched.
