The Oakland Athletics won 97 games in 2018 for many reasons. One factor that buoyed the A’s was the club’s stellar defense. Gold Glove voters have clearly recognized that.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Oakland’s entire starting infield of Matt Olson, Jed Lowrie, Matt Chapman and Marcus Semien were finalists for Gold Glove finalists at their respective positions.
Our entire infield is Green and GOLDEN.

Chapman is the most likely of the four to actually bring home the award. He’s the odds-on favorite to win the Gold Glove at third. The others are more up in the air.
But no matter how the voting goes, having all four infielders as finalists is already quite an achievement.
The winners will be revealed on November 4.
