Effectively immediately, fans attending indoor winter sports at the University of Arizona are required to wear N95 or KN95 surgical grade masks.

Cloth and fabric face coverings are not allowed at McKale Center under the mandate issued by the university.

“Per new University of Arizona guidelines, surgical or higher-grade masks are required inside McKale Center. With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and other institutions closing events to spectators, we are asking for your commitment to our masking requirement,” the university said in a release.

The mandate covers any fan attending men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball and gymnastics until further notice.
