Apparent leaked pitch from Lakers to Paul George emerges

Based on a pitch the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly plan on using, obtained by Sports Illustrated, it sure looks like Paul George is a top target of Magic Johnson and Co.

George, who grew up in Palmdale, California, has dreamed of playing for the Lakers. And the Lakers have dreamed of bringing him on board, to the point of actually being busted for tampering last summer.

With that in mind, there’s really no other way to view the following pitch as anything other than a full-court press by Los Angeles to land George in free agency. Assuming he opts out of his current deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, that is.

Here’s the leaked pitch, which will reportedly be a voiceover set to a video in which the person tasked with being the voice of the script was told it should be “less Morgan Freeman/Denzel Washington, and more Jamie Foxx,” per the SI.com report.

It’s entitled “Two Dreams.”

When you were just a kid

In your room
Dreaming from Palmdale

We were dreaming too.

While you dreamt, we built – built for your arrival

And while we dreamt, you built too
Becoming one of the world’s greatest.

Life’s most powerful dream are the one we realize ourselves.

The ones that turn us into legends.
That kid from Palmdale always knew it
Now the world will, too

If George really still has dreams of playing for the Lakers, and if Los Angeles has a master plan he can get behind, then this pitch will be tough to turn down.
