Antonio Brown back with Steelers, will return to action after preseason game

Antonio Brown

The quad injury suffered by All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown wasn’t serious, after all. After five days away from the Pittsburgh Steelers he was once again on the field Tuesday morning for the team walkthrough.

Head coach Mike Tomlin said Brown won’t practice just yet but that he’ll return to action after the team’s first preseason game Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported.

When Brown was initially sent away from camp, many fans feared the worst. However, Tomlin told reporters at the time that the injury wasn’t anything to worry about, which turned out to be the truth.

It’s likely we won’t see a heck of a lot of Brown this preseason, even if he’s fully healthy. The risk of injury is far too great, and it’s not like he doesn’t know how to get ready for the rigors of an NFL season.

Brown is the best receiver in the NFL right now, and one of its best overall players. What he’s done the past five years — averaging 116 catches, 1,569 yards and over 10 touchdowns per season — is nothing short of jaw-dropping.
