Anthony Davis still wants to be traded after Pelicans landed No. 1 pick

The New Orleans Pelicans had a potentially fanchise altering Tuesday night by winning the 2019 NBA Draft lottery.

New Orleans had a 6% chance of obtaining the top pick and former Duke star Zion Williamson.

Despite this win, a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic notes that star Pelicans big man Anthony Davis still wants to be traded.

Remember, Davis had requested a trade from the Pelicans back in January. It led to him being fined by the NBA.

The idea of teaming up with Williamson isn’t enough for Davis to rescind his trade request.

For the Pelicans, this means that Williamson will soon become the face of the franchise. Add in what the team might get for Davis in a trade, and we could be looking at contention in 2019-20.
