Anthony Davis on playing for the Bulls: ‘I am a free agent next year’

Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis will return to his Chicago roots on Tuesday when his team takes on the Bulls.

The Windy City obviously has a special place in Davis’ heart. But his response when asked about the possibility of joining the Bulls is rather eye-opening.

That certainly is something. It’s long been a foregone conclusion that Davis would re-sign with the Lakers immediately when free agency opens in July.

At the very least, he seems to be keeping his options open.

Davis also doubled down on his belief that Chicago is the Mecca of the basketball world, noting that the city boasts the greatest player of all-time. AD is obviously talking about one Michael Jordan.

Through the first six games of his Lakers career, Davis is averaging 28.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks while shooting 47% from the field.

He seems to have built a great relationship with LeBron James. Whether that changes moving forward this season remains to be seen.
