The Los Angeles Angels announced Monday that pitcher Tyler Skaggs passed away on Monday morning in Texas at the age of 27.

Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times shared that Monday’s game against the Texas Rangers has been cancelled.

Skaggs was originally drafted by the Angels in first round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010 and made his MLB debut on August 22 of 2012 as a member of the Diamondbacks.

He spent two seasons in Arizona before re-joining the Angels in 2014, and he’d been with the organization ever since.

May he rest in peace.
