For the third time this season, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever took on Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky in what is quickly becoming one of the best rivalries in the sports world.
Indiana came out on top in each of the first two games at home. This time, the Fever had to head to Chicago to take on the Sky as the team looked to win its fifth consecutive game.
The backdrop here is obvious. Drama was the name of the game in the first two matchups, creating dialogue around the WNBA that Clark is being targeted by other players. That came out on droves during a June 1 matchup that saw Sky rookie Chennedy Carter commit a hard foul against Clark.
Both Clark and Reese did their thing on Sunday. Indiana’s rookie scored 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting. She added six rebounds, 13 assists and four steals.
But it was not enough to overcome what Reese did for the Sky. She scored 25 points while grabbing 16 rebounds. Reese became the first rookie since A’Ja Wilson back in 2018 to score 25 points with at least 15 rebounds.
Chicago outscored Indiana 24-15 in the fourth quarter, with Reese scoring 10 points in the final 10 minutes of the game. In the end, it resulted in a dramatic 88-87 Sky win.

Sports world reacts to Angel Reese outperforming Caitlin Clark in big win
Chicago found itself down 15 points in the second half. That’s when Reese did her thing to put up a career-best performance.
As for Clark, she was not the reason Indiana failed to win its fifth consecutive game. She played great all-around basketball.
Obviously, the sports world had its reactions to the latest iteration of this rivalry.
