A report came out on Monday saying players on the Cleveland Browns were furious that Josh McCown got the start over Johnny Manziel in Week 3.
The report by TMZ featured anonymous players reportedly extremely mad that Manziel wasn’t getting a chance to continue what he started in Week 2, when he led the Browns to a victory over the Tennessee Titans.
“I love both Johnny and Josh but its f**ked up when you have Johnny come in and play well and has proven to the team that he is the right person for the job.
“It’s frustrating to him and us when you sit a player down when he is playing well. Coach has got to understand you are messing up the chemistry and timing with players and its f**ked up.”
Wide receiver Andrew Hawkins disagrees with this report.

Hawkins might be telling the truth here, but then again he could be telling the truth from his perspective, while the report could also correct. Sometimes players say one thing in front of their teammates and coaches and another thing anonymously to the press.
Whatever the case, there is no doubt a quarterback controversy is brewing.
During Manziel’s lone start, which was due to a concussion suffered by McCown in Week 1, he threw a couple of gorgeous deep touchdown passes to Travis Benjamin and didn’t turn the ball over once.
When McCown took over after passing concussion protocols for Week 3, he struggled to get the offense going until late in the contest against the Oakland Raiders. As a result, the Browns lost at home to the Raiders, with McCown throwing a costly interception along the way.
Needless to say, many fans are frustrated that Manziel isn’t starting, especially considering he’s 1-0 this seasons and McCown hasn’t won a game yet.
Should the Browns continue losing with McCown as the starter, then perhaps head coach Mike Pettine might see reason and give the fans their wish.
