The streets of Oakland were absolutely lit earlier this week when the Golden State Warriors celebrated the second of their back-to-back NBA titles.
Like those cheering them on, Warriors players were having a blast. Draymond Green threw shade in LeBron James’ direction and NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant struggled with his champagne.
Though, the story of the afternoon was 2017 second-round pick Jordan Bell, who had himself an absolute blast. Heck, the dude was out there drinking Henny with complete strangers (watch here).
Apparently, Bell’s antics didn’t sit well with veteran teammate Andre Iguodala.
“I told him to stop doing that stupid stuff, but he’s a rookie,” Iguodala told KNBR 680 in the Bay Area (h/t NBC Bay Area). “He enjoyed himself. It was his first time.”
What about letting the young man live? This is the first thought that comes to mind. And anyone saying “act like you’ve been there before,” Bell hasn’t. It was innocent fun. Nothing more.
Then again, Iggy is the veteran presence in Oakland. He’s been there three times. Bell would be wise to take his advice.
