Alshon Jeffery’s injury woes continue to haunt him early in the 2015 season. The Chicago Bears receiver has been ruled “out” on Sunday when the Oakland Raiders come into town.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported this unfortunate news on Friday.
The issue for Jeffery is sore hamstring that won’t go away. He’s already missed three games this season because of the injury, and Chicago’s offense has suffered.
Making matters worse for the Bears, starting quarterback Jay Cutler isn’t a sure thing for Sunday’s matchup. His status is being called “day-to-day” as he recovers from his own hamstring injury, suffered in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals as he chased down (unsuccessfully) a pick-six.
Without Jeffery, however, the Bears will struggle to find much productivity in the passing game against Oakland. Things are so bad right now that Oakland is being favored to win by one on the road — something that hardly ever happens.
