Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris will be free to negotiate with other teams come Monday. That’s when the legal tampering period for NFL free agency starts.

Morris didn’t waste any time sending a clear message regarding his future in Washington:

Morris, 27, broke on to the scene as a rookie for the Redskins back in 2012, putting up over 1,600 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. He followed that up with 1,275 yards and seven touchdowns in 2013.

Unfortunately for Morris, his performance has taken a hit in each of the past two seasons. He bottomed out with just 751 rushing yards and a career-low 3.7 yards per carry average in 2015.

In fact, all of Morris’ major statistical numbers have declined from his rookie season.

This has led most to assume that the Redskins would let Morris walk when he hits free agency. That’s only magnified by the presence of 2015 draft pick Matt Jones in Washington. He’s considered the team’s three-down back of the future.

If Morris’ message on Instagram is any indication, he’s fully prepared to call a new city home next season.

It will definitely be interesting to see if there’s a ton of interest in his services. Averaging 1,178 rushing yards and over seven touchdowns per season, Morris’ production speaks for itself. It is, however, his regression since that stellar rookie campaign that should have potential buyers concerned.

As it is, we can expect Morris to move on from the Redskins in the coming weeks. It just remains to be seen where that might be.
