Albert Pujols out 6-8 weeks after arthroscopic knee surgery

Albert Pujols will be out for roughly six-to-eight weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Wednesday, the Los Angeles Angels announced.

This likely means Pujols will miss the rest of the season, as the Angels are well outside the playoff race at this point.

Appearing in 117 games this season, the first baseman batted .245 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI.

When the 2019 season rolls around, the veteran will be 39 years of age, and the Angels will owe him $28 million, $29 million and $30 million during the 2019-21 seasons.
