Last Sunday as the Chicago Bears were busy dismantling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defensive tackle Akiem Hicks was ejected after shoving an official.
Now he’s being penalized once again in the form of a hefty fine from the league office. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, he’s been fined $33,425 for contact with an official.
Fine news: #Bears DT Akiem Hicks, who was recently ejected for shoving an official then threw his jersey and shoulder pads into stands, was fined $33,425 for contact with an official.

In reality, Hicks is lucky he didn’t get suspended for his actions. He and Bucs guard Ali Marpet had been involved in a scrum when a referee intervened. At that point, Hicks tried to go through the ref to get back at Marpet.
