Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart were named captains and starters Sunday for next month’s WNBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas.

The showcase is scheduled for July 15 at 8:30 p.m. ET at the Michelob Ultra Arena.

The starters — voted on by fans, current WNBA players and the media — were revealed during the ABC broadcast of Sunday’s game between the visiting Washington Mystics and Liberty.

Wilson and Stewart, both selected as All-Stars for the fifth time, will serve as captains by virtue of finishing with the most fan votes. It is the second straight year that they were the top two vote-getters.

The other eight starters announced Sunday include Phoenix Mercury forward Brittney Griner, who was detained in Russia during last year’s contest. Also chosen were rookie Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever), Chelsea Gray (Aces), Jewell Loyd (Seattle Storm), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Nneka Ogwumike (Los Angeles Sparks), Satou Sabally (Wings) and Jackie Young (Aces).

Voting is now underway for the 12 All-Star Game reserves, who will be selected by the league’s head coaches. They will be announced on July 1.

Wilson and Stewart will draft their rosters on July 8 from the pool of eight remaining starters and the 12 reserves.
