WWE legend and current TNA Wrestling talent Matt Hardy disliked the end of his run in AEW so much that it made him question if he even wanted to continue wrestling.

Hardy and his brother Jeff will go down as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. To many long-time professional wrestling fans, they are the best ever from their exploits in WWE and then their unique runs in TNA. That is why there was so much excitement when they were back together in AEW a few years ago.

Yet, their time in the No. 2 wrestling promotion in the world was underwhelming to most. While they had some moments, fun interactions, and matches with the Young Bucks, they were often used in a lesser role. Often appearing on second-tier show Collision instead of AEW’s flagship show, Dynamite. For many weeks, they were MIA.

It made most wrestling fans think the pair were washed up and needed to retire. However, after getting to depart AEW, they have become important parts of a rock-solid TNA roster and the promotion’s rise back to prominence.

During a new post on his YouTube channel, Hardy talked about how being in TNA has made him rediscover his love for wrestling. Because his time in AEW made him have the opposite feelings.

“During those times in AEW, there were moments where both Jeff and I — especially me — when I was there and not really doing anything. It just made me question, like, ‘Ah, why am I still doing this? Like, I love this, but this doesn’t feel like something I love right now,'” Hardy said [h/t NoDQ.com].

“And I knew if we could get into a groove of doing something good and be where we needed to be. Ultimately, what we needed to do was leave and go to TNA. Then we’d find that again, and we did,” he added. “I am as much in love with the business as I have ever been this year.”
