A new report has offered an update on how much time is left on the AEW contracts of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, and if any could eventually make the jump to WWE.
Fans have wondered for years if The Elite, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, would ever join WWE. Dating back to their legendary runs in NJPW, many fans have wanted to see them show their talent on the biggest stage in the industry.
However, that seemed like less of a possibility in 2019 when they were part of the group that helped to found the new top competitor to WWE, All Elite Wrestling. Furthermore, all three were Vice Presidents in the company, so they had an added incentive to stick around until they retired.
Yet, when fellow co-founder and VP Cody Rhodes left the company a few years ago to go back to WWE, anything seemed possible. On Saturday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select responded to a new round of wrestling fan questions, and one of them was on how much time the trio has left on their current contracts.
Kenny Omega and Young Bucks AEW Contract Run Through 2027

According to Sapp, Omega signed a four-year contract extension in 2023. However, if AEW chose to do so — which they have done with other talent in the past — they could tack on a bunch of injury time that could potentially force that deal into 2028. However, if he did become a free agent, he doesn’t believe he will ever make the jump to WWE unless it’s a part-time schedule or one-off.
As for the Young Bucks, Sapp reports that the legendary tag team’s deal expires in 2027. He believes “there’s a far more likely possibility of them doing a WWE run.” The insider also added another intriguing nugget and claimed the duo may no longer hold their roles as vice presidents for the promotion.
