Adrian Peterson Reiterates Desire to Play for the Cowboys

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson isn’t taking the quiet route when it comes to publicly expressing his desire to play for another team.

On the same day that the Vikings made it clear that they will not be trading Peterson, the 30-year-old running back told Mike Leslie of WFAA-TV in Dallas that it would be nice to play for the Cowboys.

Peterson, who has two more years remaining on his current contract, has no other option but to force the Vikings hand. They seemingly have no desire to move him at this point unless a team blows them away with a trade offer leading up to this week’s draft or during the three-day event. In addition to this, both the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys seem to be out of the running for Peterson’s services.

The running back’s unhappiness stems from a perceived lack of support he received from the Vikings organization during his entire child abuse case—a situation that caused Peterson to miss all but one game this past season while sitting on the Commissioner’s Exempt List before being suspended by the NFL.
