Adrian Peterson has a clear message for his critics

Adrian Peterson and the Washington Redskins are not going to be playing playoff football after being eliminated from contention last week.

In no way does this mean that Peterson’s return to the limelight has not been a successful one. The future Hall of Famer heads into Sunday’s season finale having put up 1,250 total yards and eight touchdowns. The 33-year-old back is also averaging a robust 4.2 yards per attempt.

Given that Peterson was signed off the streets during the preseason after Derrius Guice suffered a torn ACL, it’s somewhat shocking to see him perform at this level. Not a single team seriously contemplated signing him during the offseason.

Speaking to those critics on Thursday, the always confident Peterson had this to say.

“If you watch football, if you know anything about football, then you know that he’s still got a lot left,” Peterson said about himself, via ESPN’s John Keim. “If you can’t see that, you’re blind.”

Do you even watch football, bro? That’s pretty much what Peterson is asking those who said that he was done following two injury-plagued seasons.

Peterson turns 33 years old in March. He’s set to hit free agency once again this offseason. If what we saw during the 2018 campaign is any indication, the seven-time Pro Bowler won’t have to wait until August to find a team. That’s for sure.
