Adam Jones made news this week when he accused Antonio Brown of faking a concussion and flopping after being hit by Vontaze Burfict.
After the AFC wild card game in which the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals, he told reporters that the receiver deserved an Academy Award for his performance. He then doubled down on that quotable quote the next day on the Dan Patrick Show, saying Brown “winked” at him.
Fast forward to Tuesday and Jones still won’t change his tune, but he says he will if Brown doesn’t play when the Steelers take on the Denver Broncos Sunday night in the divisional round.
“I will, if he don’t play,” Jones said in an interview with Inside the NFL. “But you know and I know that when Saturday gets here, all that will go out the window. . . . He will be cleared Friday, I promise you.”
Of course, Jones got his days mixed up, but that’s the least of his mistakes this week.
Brown wasn’t faking. He remains on the NFL’s concussion protocol to this day and is considered a long shot to play Sunday, according to ESPN’s Bob Holtzman.
The Steelers remain “hopeful” that Brown can play.

But even if he does play, Jones owes him an apology.
As for his part, Brown appears to be taking all in stride, issuing a hilarious response to Jones on his Twitter account (see here).
