NFL hopeful Abiola Aborishade has stood outside Gillette Stadium every day for a month

Some people would give anything or do anything for a chance to play in the NFL. Meet the new chairman of this group, Abiola Aborishade, who has been standing outside Gillette Stadium every day for the past month to try and land a tryout with the New England Patriots.

From his perspective, the Patriots can do one of three things in response to his persistence.

“I honestly was thinking three things could happen from this,” Aborishade said, via Masslive.com. “The first thing is that they see me so often that they get sick and tired of me,” Aborishade says. “So they almost give up, give into it, because I’m not giving in. So they give in and they say, ‘OK, let’s see what this kid can do.’ The second thing is the people who drive around here, who work around here see me so often that they almost say, ‘hey, we want to see what he can do.'”

“And the third thing is they just leave me out here,” he says, laughing.

To this point, all but a few have ignored his efforts, though Jordan Richards, Rob Nincovich and Malcolm Butler have all stopped to chat with him about his endeavor.

He’s been there in the mornings every day before head coach Bill Belichick arrives, before director of player personnel Nick Caserio arrives, before pretty much everyone besides the security guard has arrived.

Most college football fans likely won’t recognize this player, and for good reason, as Aborshade played at Division III UMass Dartmouth, a tiny school south of Boston. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 195 pounds, he has some decent athletic abilities, based on this YouTube clip.

By this time, we assume Belichick, Caserio and the rest of the brass have looked into him and know what he has to offer. And one might assume he’d have gotten a shot by now if they liked what they saw and heard.

That said, you can be sure they have him in the back of their minds every single day. He might get his shot still.
