Aaron Rodgers working with rehab group at practice

Aaron Rodgers is working to be healthy for Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, and the Green Bay Packers are being cautious with the All-Pro quarterback.

Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette notes head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers will be working off to the side with the rehab group at practice Wednesday.

Although he said “I’m playing” in an interview after Green Bay’s comeback win over the Chicago Bears, Rodgers’ status is uncertain for the rivalry game.

In 2017, his season effectively ended against Minnesota. Linebacker Anthony Barr slammed Rodgers to the ground, breaking his collarbone and limiting the Packers quarterback to only one ineffective appearance late in the year.

Rodgers will do everything he can to suit up. But for now, that means the Packers protecting their star player.
