Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers might not be in the greatest of moods during the offseason.
Green Bay is coming off a blowout loss in the NFC Championship Game and just selected Rodgers’ eventual heir-apparent in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
As reports continue to surface that Green Bay’s decision to select Jordan Love was a clear message sent in Rodgers’ direction, the quarterback is seemingly speaking out for the first time.
Without saying a word, Rodgers pretty much indicated he knows full well the business of the NFL and is not upset. It came with him liking a tweet from former teammate Brady Poppinga calling out Packers reporter Rob Demovsky.
Rodgers then took to Instagram, pretty much doubling down on what his former teammate had said earlier in the day.
While the Packers continue to receive criticism over the Love pick, it seems Rodgers is not upset behind the scenes. Whether that’s just the public persona he wants to put out there right now remains to be seen.
What we do know is that Green Bay inked Rodgers to a four-year, $134 extension back on August of 2018. It is, at the very least, financially tied to him through the 2021 season barring a trade. The Packers could then get out from Rodgers’ contract with a cap savings of $22-plus million.
For now, that’s all premature.
