Richard Sherman may not be the most recent recipient of a Super Bowl ring. That doesn’t mean he’s not a superstar. The 26-year-old Seattle Seahawks cornerback showed us this past regular season that he’s not just a stellar athlete, but that he’s an awesome person as well.
1. He is Stanford educated.
Not only is Sherman Stanford educated, he finished college with a 3.7 GPA and high school with a ridiculous 4.2 GPA.
2. He’s hilarious.
3. He’s confident and knows who he is.
4. He played through a nasty elbow injury.
Sherman will undergo Tommy John Surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left elbow. Luckily, there is plenty of time to recover from the surgery. And Sherman isn’t planning on throwing on a Major League bump any time soon.
5. Saturday Night Live made fun of him.

So you KNOW he’s great.
6. His child waited for the Super Bowl to be born.
Well almost. Sherman was concerned if he was going to have to worry about the delivery of his baby boy during the biggest game of the season, but that didn’t happen. Selfless act on Baby Sherman’s part.
7. He has a Super Bowl ring.
…and it’s prettier than anything Beyonce’ sang about.
8. He’s a class act.
He was the first person to congratulate Tom Brady on his Super Bowl victory.
