49ers not favored to win any games in 2016

Talk about dead on arrival.

According to Cantor Technology, which comprises the spreads for each NFL game in the regular season, the San Francisco 49ers are not favored to win any of their 16 games in 2016, per Ben Fawkes of ESPN.

The 49ers kick off their season opener at Levi’s Stadium when they are predicted to lose to the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams in Monday Night Football on Sept. 12.

Talk about degrading. The 49ers will have the home-field advantage and will be most likely facing a rookie quarterback-led team.

After that, it is predicted that the 49ers will tank the remainder of their 15 games, include ones against some suspect opponents such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears. The 49ers are expected to lose against the Rams again in Week 16 by a -5.5 spread.

This of course could all change if the 49ers turn things around starting in Week 1. Though at this time, the 49ers quarterback competition between Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert is on indefinite hold. Kap has no timetable to return after under going some minor offseason surgeries. This could mean Gabbert will be under center starting in September.

It would appear that Chip Kelly signed up for more than he bargained considering the looming forecast that lies ahead.
