4 Zoomers, simply TOOBASED score wins in DPC North America Division I

Sweeps were the theme as 4 Zoomers and simply TOOBASED swept their matches on Saturday in Week 5 play of the DPC North America: ESL One Winter event.

4 Zoomers (3-3) evened their record by winning 2-0 over Arkosh Gaming (1-5). Arkosh remained one-half game in front of last-place Black N Yellow (1-6), however, after the latter’s 2-0 loss to simply TOOBASED (2-5).

With their loss, Black N Yellow was eliminated from top-six contention and will be one of the bottom two that will be relegated to Division II.

These teams, currently fourth through eighth in the standings, are trying to finish in the top six.

Wildcard Gaming, Evil Geniuses and Undying are tied for second place at 4-2 behind Quincy Crew (6-0). All three second-place teams have one match remaining in the eight-team round robin.

The Zoomers’ wins came in 30 minutes and 54 minutes respectively, both on red. Nicolas “Gunnar” Lopez of the U.S. led the win with a kills-deaths-assists ratio of 14-1.5-18. Andrew “Gremlo” Jenkins of Canada finished with a K-D-A of 12.5-8-4.5 for Arkosh.

TOOBASED won its games in 33 and 31 minutes both on green, led by Eric “Ryoya” Dong at 11-0.5-8. Black N Yellow’s Diego Nicolas Ortas “Rises” Rodriguez of Uruguay finished at 3-4-3.5.

Week 6 action will begin with one match on Tuesday: 4 Zoomers vs. Wildcard Gaming.
