Washington Football Team injury report: Week 6

Washington Football Team Injury Report
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Heading into Week 6, the injury report for the Washington Football Team is shrinking. The starters on the report were at full practice on Thursday, so that is a very good sign for Ron Rivera’s squad. Dwayne Haskins Jr is the most notable name on the injury report, and he still out with an illness

The season has been frustrating for the young Washington team. They look to turn their season around with an NFC East win versus the Giants. Next four weeks of opponents:

Washington Football Team schedule

  • Week 6: Washington at New York Giants
  • Week 7: Dallas at Washington
  • Week 8: New York Giants at Washington
  • Week 9: Washington at Detriot

Last update: Oct. 17, 5:10 PM EST

Dwayne Haskins Jr. injury update

  • Position: Backup Quarterback
  • Status: Out
  • Injury: Illness
  • Team Impact: Haskins’ absence since being benched is creating a sense of drama around the team. With rumors circulating that he wants to be traded, every missed game and practice will only add fuel to the speculation.
  • Fantasy Impact: Since Haskins is now the third-string quarterback, there is no fantasy football impact.

Kyle Allen injury update

  • Position: Quarterback
  • Status: Full
  • Injury: Left Shoulder
  • Team Impact: After practicing throughout the week, it’s evident Allen is healthy. He is the team’s starting quarterback and will be needed in Sunday’s game versus Giants.
  • Fantasy Impact: Allen has not shown much to be excited about from a fantasy standpoint. Stay away from Allen and Washington’s receivers.

Chase Roullier injury update

  • Position: Center
  • Status: Questionable
  • Injury: Knee
  • Team Impact: Roullier is needed on the offensive line for Washington. With Kyle Allen as the team’s new starting quarterback, the running game will be crucial. Roullier plays a big role in that, and he also will be vital in pass protection for Allen. Roullier practiced fully on Thursday and Friday, so he should play in Sundays’ game.
  • Fantasy Impact: If Roullier does not play, fantasy teams should stay away from Antonio Gibson and other Washington running backs.

Antonio Gibson injury update

  • Position: Running back
  • Status: Questionable
  • Injury: Toe
  • Team Impact: The rookie from Memphis has been an important piece of Washington’s offense. He has 335 yards from scrimmage so far and is becoming a cornerstone of offensive coordinator Scott Turner’s offense. He was at full practice on Thursday, so he should be good to go versus a porous Giants’s defense.
  • Fantasy Impact: If Gibson is good to go on Sunday, Gibson is a borderline RB2 as he plays the Giants as one of the key weapons in Washington’s offense.

Greg Storman Injury Update

  • Position: Cornerback
  • Status: Out
  • Injury: Foot
  • Team Impact: Storman is third on the depth chart for Washington, so barring any bizarre injuries, his absence won’t be missed too much.
  • Fantasy Impact: There is no fantasy football impact.

Joshua Garnett injury update

  • Position: Offensive guard
  • Status: Questionable
  • Injury: Illness
  • Team Impact: Garnett serves as depth for the Washington Football Team. He most likely will be out for Sunday’s matchup versus the Giants, but his absence should barely be felt.
  • Fantasy Impact: There is no fantasy football impact.

Washington Football Team Injured Reserve

  • Status: Out until after week 6
  • Injury: Knee
