Washington Football Team star Derrius Guice arrested on domestic violence charges

Derrius Guice MCL injury

This is some absolutely huge news for the Washington Football Team heading into the 2020 NFL season. And it could have wide-ranging ramifications for one of their best-known players.

Third-year running back Derrius Guice was arrested Friday afternoon on domestic violence charges, a spokesperson for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office told The Washington Post.

Charges include three counts of assault and battery, one count of strangulation and another of destruction of property.

“Guice has hired Peter D. Greenspun, a prominent criminal attorney in Northern Virginia whose past clients include D.C. sniper John Allen Muhammad and sportscaster Marv Albert,” the report notes.

A photo was made available Friday afternoon of the young running back in police custody.

A second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2018, Guice fell in that year’s draft due to concerns over his character. He’s played in a grand total of five games in two seasons due to multiple knee injuries.
