San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. is quickly becoming one of the young faces of Major League Baseball.

After a dazzling rookie season in Southern California, Tatis has opened the truncated 2020 campaign on absolute fire. He’s also drawn the ire of traditionalists around the baseball world after his antics earlier this week against the Rangers. Others have backed the young man.

The youngster’s tremendous start to the 2020 season continued Wednesday evening against the Texas Rangers and starter Lance Lynn.

Check out his homer Tatis hit to bring his season total up to 12 through less than 26 full games.

This is just absurd. It appears that there’s not a thing the 21-year-old MVP candidate can’t do. In addition to hitting a league-high 11 homers entering Wednesday’s action, Tatis also led the league with 28 RBI and six stolen bases.

Not only did Tatis Jr. hit another homer, he trolled the Rangers with a crybaby celebration after heading to the dugout.

That was among the many reactions to what we saw Wednesday evening.
