Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver DeSean Jackson is in some hot water after he shared an anti-Semitic message credited to Adolf Hitler Monday night.

“Hitler said, ‘because the white Jews knows that the Negros are the real Children of Israel and to keep Americas secret the Jews will black mail America. White Jews will blackmail America. [They] will extort America, their plan for world domination won’t work if the Negroes know who they were,” Jackson shared on an Instagram Live post
The message promoted the teachings of Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan, a known anti-Semite.
Jackson has now apologized.
Meanwhile, the Eagles themselves have responded in kind.

“We have spoken with DeSean Jackson about his social media posts,” the Eagles said in their statement, via ESPN. “Regardless of his intentions, the messages he shared were offensive, harmful, and absolutely appalling. They have no place in our society, and are not condoned or supported in any way by the organization.”
It goes without saying that Jackson has faced the wrath of social media since separate posts supporting both Hitler and Farrakhan went live. But the Eagles say they are still looking into the situation.
There’s a chance that Jackson could be suspended after sharing these messages.
After all, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees had to do a tour to apologize for much less harmful remarks surrounding national anthem protests around the football world.
If we’re going to criticize one segment of society over questionable stances, we can’t ignore others who share harmful, racist and anti-Semitic messages.
