The PGA is conducting the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut this week. Its its second tournament since returning from a months long hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, the major backdrop here has been the above-mentioned pandemic. Multiple players had to withdraw from the event after testing positive for COVID-19. A top-five player in that of Brooks Koepka withdrew after his caddie tested positive.
That’s not the extent of it.

It’s not yet known which player(s) tested positive for the virus. But this isn’t great news.
Sure golf allows for more social distancing than other sports. The events continued to be played without spectators in attendance. Even then, it takes just one positive case for the virus to spread throughout the golf community.
Those who have been in contact with the individual(s) who tested positive will likely have to get tested or self-quarantine.
The good news here is that widespread testing is available to all of those on the tour. The hope is that the spread of the virus is limited.
