What a week it’s been for the Brooklyn Nets. First, veteran Wilson Chandler opted out of the Orlando restart. Then, guard Spencer Dinwiddie tested positive for COVID-19 and shared he isn’t sure he’ll play in Orlando. Now, another shoe has dropped.

DeAndre Jordan has COVID-19 and will not play for Nets in Orlando

Nets star big man DeAndre Jordan shared on Twitter Monday night that he has COVID-19 and will not play in Orlando.

This is a huge blow to the Nets, who are in playoff contention heading into the bubble in Orlando.

Prior to the NBA suspending its season in March, Jordan was averaging 8.3 points and 10 rebounds per game, appearing in 56 games.

Nets roster in trouble

We already know that Jordan and Chandler won’t be playing for the Nets in Orlando. Dinwiddie made it clear he may not be able to play. He’s dealing with symptoms right now and will quarantine for 14 days while monitoring his health.

Then there’s the Kyrie Irving situation. He’s strongly advocated for the NBA not to restart in Orlando and recently made it clear he is willing to sacrifice his career to pursue social justice issues.

Quite simply, the Nets are a wreck. And it’s not hard to imagine other teams will deal with similar situations once/if the restart actually happens later in July.
