Just hours after one NBA star tested positive for COVID-19, Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon announced on Wednesday that he also has the coronavirus.

In a statement released by the team, Brogdon said that he has already placed himself in isolation and is feeling well. While he will remain in quarantine while some of his teammates return to the practice court, he plans to play when the NBA season resumes in Orlando.

Brogdon, a second-round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, joined the Pacers this past offseason following a sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. He is playing out the first year of a four-year, $85 million contract.

The 27-year-old has played a crucial role in Indiana holding the No. 5 seed with the NBA season set to return. Brogdon’s stats this season are impressive, averaging 16.3 points, 7.1 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game.

If he continues to recover without any issues, he could return to the team before the season starts on July 30.
