Cam Newton hears the skeptics around the NFL. The former NFL MVP remains a free agent months after his release because NFL teams are concerned about his health. He might have silenced some of those skeptics with his latest workout on Instagram.
Newton, who underwent surgery in December, is clearly putting the time in before the summer to get ready for the NFL season. While organizations might question his durability and if he is truly ready to play football after another surgery, the 31-year-old looked sharp in his latest workout.
Newton hasn’t received much interest since being released by the Carolina Panthers in March. Because team facilities have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the star quarterback hasn’t been able to prove he is healthy. Now that facilities are starting to open, Newton is showing everyone that he is ready to throw whenever he gets the call.
At this point, he might need to settle for being a backup quarterback. After being ignored in free agency, Newton already seems motivated and determined to prove his critics wrong. Whenever his next opportunity comes, we’d bet on the former All-Pro quarterback to prove why he is still a top talent.
