The Seattle Seahawks were hellbent on adding to an injury-plagued and questionable backfield behind Russell Wilson ahead of the 2020 season.

General manager John Schneider and Co. did just that Friday afternoon. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Seattle has signed veteran running back Carlos Hyde.

A second-round pick of the division-rival San Francisco 49ers back in 2014, the 29-year-old Hyde is coming off a 2019 season that saw him tally a career-best 1,112 total yards for the Houston Texans.

That came after he was acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs prior to the start of the campaign.

Hyde will now likely be the primary backup to Chris Carson in Seattle this upcoming season.
