NFL coaches reportedly ‘marvel’ at Lamar Jackson for surprising reason

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson throws a pass

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has the NFL world in awe. Fresh off his unanimous MVP trophy, he’s undeniably one of the most electric players in the league.

Not surprisingly, NFL coaches reportedly “marvel” at Jackson. But the reason they do is a bit unexpected considering his other strengths.

NFL coaches “marvel” about Lamar Jackson’s accuracy

Writing in his weekly mailbag for The Athletic, NFL insider Jay Glazer shared the following:

“The thing not talked about enough with Jackson is his jump in accuracy. He worked so hard to get more accurate. It wasn’t a little more accurate — it was a lot more accurate. Coaches around the league marvel about his accuracy and how much he jumped last year. He has gone through the ceiling because of his work ethic.”

In case you forgot, Jackson is absolutely lethal as a pure passer (watch this).

Speaking of accuracy, we may see even more of Jackson’s arm in 2020. He recently made it clear that he won’t be running nearly as much this coming season.

This is a significant bit of evolution for Jackson. In 2019, you may remember, he smashed Michael Vick’s NFL record for rushing yards in a single season by a quarterback.

If this young man can stay healthy over the course of the next decade or more, he could become one of the greatest to ever play the game. We can’t wait to see him try.
