WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa was razor sharp during his pro day workout

Tua Tagovailoa NFL Draft

Not that anyone doubted Tua Tagovailoa as a pure passer, but video from his pro day-type workout this week shows he was razor sharp.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN shared footage of the workout, which was distributed to each of the 32 NFL teams. Tagovailoa put this workout on in lieu of an actual pro day due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has shut down most of America the past few weeks.

One of the most accurate short-to-intermediate-range passers we’ve seen in years, Tagovailoa put all that on display with precision throws during this workout.

That being said, pro day workouts are supposed to go like this. Additionally, what the videos show only confirms what the quarterback put on display during his collegiate tenure at the University of Alabama, where he routinely made pinpoint passes that led to huge scores (like this) for the Crimson Tide.

The big issue Tagovailoa is facing right now is that there are a lot of reports emerging indicating that teams are seriously concerned about his ability to stay healthy long term. He was injured often while at Alabama, and reportedly at least one NFL team failed him with a medical red flag.

We recently dove into why this year’s unique circumstances (pandemic-related) could lead to Tagovailoa taking an ugly draft-day slide. But it wouldn’t be shocking to see a team take him early in the draft, either, due to his tantalizing abilities as a pure passer.
