Second worker at new NFL stadium tests positive for COVID-19

Chargers, trade

As the United States and the rest of the world continues in quarantine, essential jobs are still being done during the entire COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes the Las Vegas Raiders’ new venue and the shared Rams and Chargers stadium in Southern California.

Unfortunately, it now seems that the Los Angeles’ project could have taken yet another hit. According to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN, a second worker at SoFi Stadium has tested positive for COVID-19.

This comes after another worker tested positive for the virus last month. Those leading the charge to build the stadium in time for the coming 2020 NFL season have indicated that further health issues for employees relating to COVID-19 could suspend construction.

The joint stadium was expected to open in time for the 2019 NFL campaign. Logistical issues, including the weather, delayed the opening.

If the 2020 season does start as planned in September (no guarantee), there’s a chance this venue will not be ready.
