The NBA has seen its season under suspension for well over a month now as the United States continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
There might be some light at the end of the tunnel as some states are set to ease stay-at-home restrictions here in the next several days.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA will allow teams to open their practice facilities in states and cities where stay-at-home restrictions have been eased or will be eased.
The process will start May 1.
Vice President Mike Pence announced earlier in the week that 16 states have unveiled plans to lift stay-at-home restrictions.
This could impact the Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets, among several others.
There’s no telling when (or if) the NBA season will start up again. There’s still some major hot spots of COVID-19 around the United States.
If the season were to start up again, it would likely come with games being played at a neutral site. The Las Vegas area is one location under consideration, especially considering it has not been largely impacted by the pandemic.
For sports fans, this has to qualify as some good news.
