Cowboys player has interesting defense of Amari Cooper amid criticism

Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys

Former NFL head coach and current ESPN talking head Rex Ryan made news Friday morning during an appearance on “Get Up.”

The always controversial Ryan went after Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper, calling him a turd while blasting the team over the $100 million contract it gave him.

Ryan received a ton of criticism for his comments. But it’s what Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis had to say in response that stands out.

Lewis is talking about this play in which Cooper played a role in Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby suffering a torn ACL back in November of 2018.

That’s probably not the best play to use when defending Cooper. It was a pretty classless response from Lewis, who attempted to walk it back a bit later.

People have extra time on their hands while being stuck at home in quarantine. It’s going to lead to some rather weird comments and debates on social media, especially relating to the sports world.

Both Ryan and Lewis were guilty of that Friday.
