Buccaneers to trade one of Tom Brady’s top weapons during the draft?

O.J. Howard Trade

New Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has himself a nice amount of elite weapons at his disposal as the six-time Super Bowl champ looks to prove he can win outside of New England.

Chris Godwin and Mike Evans represent the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Bucs have two talented tight ends in that of Cameron Brate and former top-20 pick O.J. Howard.

Brady might be without one of these targets here in the near future. According to this report, Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians is looking to trade Howard. Something could happen during the 2020 NFL Draft next week.

This isn’t too much of a surprise. Howard has not lived up to expectations after Tampa Bay made him the 19th overall pick back in 2018. He’s recorded 94 receptions for less than 1,500 yards in two seasons.

There’s also this thing called fit. Arians’ offenses have rarely catered to tight ends during his long NFL career. That did not change in his first season with the Buccaneers.

What might a Howard trade bring to the table in terms of a return? I am not too sure. However, he is still only 25 years old and boasts a tremendous amount of upside.
